Connect a client's Instagram account to Oxelio and complete the login verification that automation depends on.
Adding an Account
Overview
Oxelio does not ask your staff to enter a client's Instagram password. Instead, from the account's row or management page, you can generate a branded client login portal link and send it to the client. The client opens that link and enters their own credentials, two-factor code, or backup code directly — your team never has to see or handle that information.
Behind the scenes, each connected account is authenticated on its own dedicated device. "Not connected to phone" status simply means the client's credentials haven't been used to log the account in on that device yet — this is why login has to happen before any automation can start.

How to Configure
- Click Add Account.
- Search for the client's Instagram username.
- Select the correct profile from the results.
- Click OK — the account appears in the dashboard with status Never Logged In.
- From the account's row or info page, generate the login link.
- Send the login link to the client and ask them to complete login, including any 2FA or backup code step.
- Once the client finishes, the account's status updates automatically to reflect the outcome.
Dashboard Settings
Every account usually has one of these login states:
| State | Meaning | Action Needed |
|---|---|---|
| Valid | The account is authenticated and automation can run normally. | None. |
| Never Logged In | The account was added but the client hasn't completed login yet. | Send (or resend) the login portal link. |
| Incorrect Password | The client entered a wrong password, or the account's Instagram password has changed. | Resend the login link so the client can re-enter the correct password. |
| Two Factor Required | The client needs to complete two-factor authentication to finish logging in. | Resend the login link and ask the client to complete 2FA or enter a backup code. |
| Challenge | Instagram is temporarily limiting login attempts for this account. | Wait it out — see Rate Limits. |
FAQ
Do I need my client's Instagram password?
No. Your team doesn't have to enter or see the client's credentials. You generate a login portal link, and the client enters their own credentials, 2FA code, or backup code directly through that portal.
What happens if my client enters the wrong password?
The account's status changes to Incorrect Password. Generate and resend the login link so the client can try again with the correct password.
Why does a newly added account show zero activity?
Every account starts at Never Logged In. No automation runs until the client completes login and the account reaches Valid.
What if my client has two-factor authentication enabled?
That's expected and supported — the login portal includes a step for completing 2FA or entering a backup code.
